I have been served a letter by my partners solicitor who wants to end our relationship and sell our house. A dispute exist between us as to the proceeds of sale, and I am reluctant to put the house on the market untill we can come to an agreement on this.
A short time, 7/10 days, before recieving the letter, I had sujusted we draw up an agreement on the division of equity from the sale of property with a solicitor, but she refused on account of cost.
Her solicitor has given me a short timescale to respond/comply to their letter or she can invoke this act apparantly “for an Order for sale of” our house “together with an Order relating to the distribution of the net sale proceeds.
It also states that if my partner takes this action, her solicitor will be claiming the cost of proceedings against me.
I should point out that 2/3 of the property is in her name at her request because she has 2 adult offspring and I 1. We have been living together for 7+ years.
