thanks for the help with some of the networking issues guys, but now i am down to the nitty gritty..no matter what i do, can not get my notebook to access the desktop which runs XP.
Same usergroup, firewall disabled, sharing all set up, but get this. On my notebook, i run 2000. I set up the shares and permissions, and when i log on from the desktop, i just sign in and away i go.BUT, i keep getting an access denied error when trying to logon to the desktop, which runs Xp home, and has this “simple file sharing system”. In windows explorer, From the notebook, if I click in the desktop by right clicking, I get the added message, “the server does not accespt remote requests, or I don’t have the servers, permission.
