I filed for divorce in the State of Michigan. The first court hearing is this week. I am not sure what is usually resolved at the first hearing. He is claiming to have no assets. I have a list of $105,000 in assets created by a licensed appraiser. He earns $70,000 to $120,000 per year in the business he owns. I work for him and I do not get paid. I earn $23,000 in another business that I run. I own the business (he claims that the business is his, even tho I do all the work to keep it running). I filed for the divorce. He is demanding that I pay all his legal fees from my income. I do not get paid for working in his company. We are in the State of Michigan and have been married 24 years. He says that anything that he brought into the marriage 24 years ago is his and not joint marital property. He is denying that I handed him $34,000 when we got married from the sale of my house, paid his land contract up, paid bad debt including his exwifes tubal ligation. Is this all joint property?
