Should I hire a lawyer against my husband’s will?

We’re getting a divorce, my stbx doesn’t want a lawyer involved. He drafted the Dissolution of Marriage and wanted me to sign it right away. I did not sign it because it is not fair and because I know I’m not getting what I am entitled to. I will have physical custody of the children.
1) We have two minor kids, and one 19 yo full time student. He is only willing to pay 20% of his take home pay for child support and nothing more. Not willing to split any other expenses, such as school tuition, extra curriculum activities, medical expenses not covered by insurance, etc.
2) He want exactly 1/2 of the profit of the sale of our house. The downpayment we put in this house was from the sale of my own house which I purchased before we got married.
3) He also strongly disagree that I am entitled to some percentage of his retirement investment.
4) He has some savings bond that he is hiding from me.
5) He withdrew $700 from our joint checking account and wouldn’t tell me what he did with it.

We’ve been married 21 yrs. and live like roommates?

My husband is basically a wonderful man. We married when my children from 1st marriage were 4 and 6. We also have 3 children together. (2 at home- youngest is 6)) After my mother died in ’99 i received a substantial inheritance and we bought our “dream” land (15 acres) and built a house. It has become a nightmare. Not enough time, energy or money to keep it up. (also, no one helps me) Anyway, 2 yrs. ago we decided to divorce and put the house up for sale. It has not sold. We are simply “waiting”. At least thats what I think, as we dont talk about it AT ALL. We get along fine, he’s a great story teller, he makes me laugh still, puts up with lots of my crap, but we’re just “pretending”, i feel, for the kids. We sleep in separate rooms and have our own lives, but as long as I am home and “play” the role, everything is “fine”. If I ask if we’re still getting divorced, his answer is usually something like, “May as well.” I have no idea what we’re doing. This could go on forever.

How can I get my husband to get off of the couch and finish a home improvement project started a few weeks ago

He laid a new floor in the spare bathroom. All that’s left is for him to install the shoe moulding so I can put the room back together.
He works in flooring all day long and when he gets home he heads straight for the sofa. How can I entice him to finish the job at home?

Should I turn in my husband’s boss to the BBB for not paying me for work done?

My husband was backed up on his inventory job so I offered to help. He told his boss I was doing it at home and his boss said to keep up with my hours and he’d pay me. I worked on it whenever I had a chance for 2 weeks logging about 65 hours. Hubby turned in an invoice for me to get paid and the boss didn’t pay. He said he didn’t have the money to. Days before he had asked my husband when I could have it done and said if I couldn’t quick he would hire temps to do it. I assured him I’d do it but the next day he told hubby to bring it all back to the office and do it himself. He never mentioned another word about it. Hubby has had to borrow money from him for gas and the boss takes it out of his check! He doesn’t even acknowledge that he owes me money. He could take it out of that! Should I make a complaint to the BBB? I’m not sure if it would stand up since I only had a verbal agreement with the man.

What would it cost to tear down a mobile home and replace it with a modular?

My husband and I are looking to buy our own home. I am very interested in modular homes (there are lots of nice ones that I have looked at). We threw around the idea of buying land and putting in our own, but there are so many hidden costs, like drilling a well, hooking up electricity, plumbing, water….all of that stuff. So then I thought about buying a mobile home that recently come up for sale in our area, tearing it down, and replacing it with a nice modular. What kind of hidden costs would we get into there? Does anybody have any idea what it would cost?
