Does anyone know of an nice apartment in MI that not big on credit checks I”ve been on my job for eigh years

I cant find an apartment that will let me rent with my credit history I make good money now at my job and I’ve here 8 years

When applying for an apartment, on what grounds can they “just not approve you”?

I have so-so credit, a so-so rental history (never been evicted or anything), and a good income (more than 3 times the monthly rent). Do you think I will get approved, have to put down a deposit, or just declined?
