Where do I complain about a website that misleads you into thinking their complete service was free?

There are many websites that say their service is free, or “free to join (or register)” (like Classmates.com), but many times this is just a way of misleading you to give personally identifiable information like your name, year of birth, last name at graduation – which discloses any maiden names or changed names, and e-mail address. The really good (what many or most people want) parts of these services are NOT FREE. But, you don’t know this until you register first. The home page may say something like “It’s Free!”, and that’s it. While there are privacy policies with many of these sites, most people don’t take the time to read them carefully. If they did, they would find that there are ways for these misleading sites to give your personal information to “third parties”, which increases your risk no matter what precautions are taken. They can also sell their company and not be responsible for what happens to your info after the sale. The Choice Point debacle can happen too.

Can I withdraw the funds from my 401k that I started with my previous employer without facing apenalty?

I began my 401k plan in 2001 and left my job in August 2005 upon graduation from college and the start of my new career. I have since began employment with another employer where I cannot enroll in a 401k plan until I have been there a year (August 2006).

When I originally began my 401k I was only having 4% of my meager payday allocated, therefore I don’t have a great deal invested (just under $4K). And upon termination of employment I left my contributions as they were.

I plan to begin a new 401k plan in August where I will allocate at least 10% to my new 401k.

I’ve just gotten married and bought a house. The $4K from my previous 401k would come in quite handy for some home improvement projects we were wanting to begin.

Would it be possible for my to withdraw this money without penalty? How would I go about doing so? How much would need to be taxed? And how would this affect my income taxes?

Thank you! :)

Can you give me websites that can tell me the ‘Land for Sale in Surface Paradise’? Best answer gets 1000P.

My dad just bought a ‘BT Cruiser 30′ Triple Slide Outs’ motorhome for my graduation present! Now, I feel like going to Queensland, Gold Coast, Beach, ect…. so I’m trying to buy some land! Land should be at least 10m.squareDown (my motorhomes 9m.square) and 5m.square across. At least 2 trees and flat ground. Find it all in SURFACE PARADISE!

Good Luck!
