From the supplier: The history of the log home industry in Montana from its beginnings in the 1946 to 1993 is traced. From an exclusively domestic activity during its infancy, log home construction grew markedly in the 1970s, propelled by the back-to-nature movement, the Earth Day, an increase in house buying by the Walt Disney-Dave Crockett generation and a rise in demand for second homes. By 1993, sales of Montana’s log home industry has reached approximately million. It also continues to be a job-generating and growth sector of the state.
