I have been involved with sales, and i have managed and lead other salesman with frito-lay corp for 8 years. I have trained, and i have been one of the top salesman and leaders for several years. However, i have quit that job to pursue my education. I will soon have a political science degree, and then a law degree. My question is, with my experience in sales, and business atmosphere, what are my chances in landing a great paying job with this education? What jobs or positions are offered with this education other than being an attorney? I would appreciate any one with some good answers to this question. Thank you!

Hard working MBA – Why can’t I find a job?

I’m a hard-working MBA with an Ivy-League education, MBA with multiple concentrations, and 5 years corporate exp.

I quit my last job in Nov after 4 yrs of growing sales and ending up with record profits and revenue. I was head of a large vendor channel for all of that time. And because it was a small company, the last 2 years, I also headed our company’s accounting and HR functions.

I got sick of the 75-hour workweeks, so I quit and spent 2 months transitioning to the 3 people taking my jobs.

Since then, interviews are rare, I “don’t have enough experience” for positions at or above my old salary, and if I apply below, “They don’t think they could keep me”.

I’ve tried “best of” lists of my skills in different functions, and position-specific resumes focusing on one area, both have the same low success rate at landing interviews.

80% of the online jobs seem to be recruiters, and they compliment me on my resume format, so I don’t think that’s the problem. What is it?

Im a divorced guy, and earned about $15,000 in Quebec, Canada last year. What tax exemptions exist for me ?

What are the criterias for reducing income tax ? What is a tax write-off ? Is my estimation that on $ 15,000. of declared income in Canada, I would have to pay around $ 2000 income tax ? I don’t own a home yet, and live mostly in my truck when the weather is warm enough to save on rent and attempt to save toward a cabin.. Is there a way to be creative with one’s taxes ? Besides personal criteria for tax exemption, how much can I donate to charity or to an individual doing charitable work ? Can I write off any percentage of what I would pay in income tax toward my 20 yr old son’s college or univeristy education ? I am almost constantly driving and traveling when I do sales work.. Are there bills or receipts I am supposed to keep during the year that are helpful toward tax exemptions ? My commercial art business is not yet officially registered. To qualiify for tax exemption, is there an advantage to having your business registered or is it ta disadvantage ?

Should i quit scool and work or not?

I am 22 years old. Well my family started a business 2 years ago and we have come a long way sence than. To give you some back round info, we took 500K and bought 3 acers of land right before land in this area shot up, with building and land together it is now worth almost 2 million, all this in less than 3 years. Right now we are having trouble with marketing, we need a sales man but we dont have the extra money nore do we have time to train some one to do it right. I can do it, I have the drive and i have the skill but I go to school at night for business managment. I like going to school cause it makes me think if this dosent work out at least i will have a plan B, my education and experience. I have done great things for the company before and i know i can do even more if I put ALL my time into it. Should I quit school for a few semesters and devote all my time to making the business grow or should i continue doing what i am and let things take there own course??
