Question about Citrix…I understand this is used for remote access to an office network. Here’s my question:

if an application is installed on one of the network drives at work, and I’d like to install that application when I’m home, does it matter which drive it’s installed on? Can I point the destination path to my local drive (c)? In other words, if I want to install a program that’s residing on one of our network drives at work, can I install it when I’m logged on to Citrix at home and install it on my local drive or on the same drive as the network drive? Hope this makes sense.

Any other info re: Citrix that’s easy to understand is appreciated. Thanks.

Is it possible to get into a Dell computer that has been password protected?

I have a Dell laptop that crapped out on me recently. The screen went black and it turned out to need a replacement. Since I was going to add a larger drive and the cost of a new screen was around $400, I decided to just buy a new one.

I have the two laptops and my desktop all communicating on my home network and I was able to xfer most of my relevant data from the old machine. The problem arises because I tried to set it to allow it to be used remotely. I had to put a user name and password on it to allow this feature and have never been able to get it to connect. What’s worse is that when I try to log into it directly, it does not recognize the password I thought I gave it!

I got about 95% of what I needed from it by adding it to My Network Places and simply treating it like any other computer and copying data over. The problem is that although I have permission to access the entire C: drive, it does not allow me to go to the Program Files directory, which is where I need to go
