Ok……..So I’ve finally figured out how to FTP to my home computer (port blocking routers and software firewalls aside!)From my home LAN I have no problems accessing files, but from WAN I can connect, but after logging in I I get either a: 530 user access denied error or Could not retrieve directory listing error. I’m assuming now that it’s a Windows XP thing. Is that correct. Anyone know what the fix is? Interestingly, I can ftp in from a DOS prompt and see the files. What’s that all about. Thanks.
I believe that the FTP server is working correctly, because I can access the files just fine from the LAN. What I think is that there is an additional authorization process made by Window XP on the server (with is just a computer running FTP server software) that will not allow me to access the file.
