What self improvement/training materials do top salespeople REALLY rate?

I’m about to enter a new career in sales and I have a huge collection of all kinds of motivation/self improvement and sales/negotiation training materials. Audio, video and books.

However, in the *real* world, what have people found to be highly useful and workable? If you are a high achiever sales/negotiation wise-what if any would you recommend to a newcomer?

I’m looking at business to business telesales as a starting point and hope to add face to face relationship building as I progress.

At the moment I’ve a list of authors a mile long and I’ve listened to a fair amount. However having not field tested it all, I could be in fantasy land as to would work :-) .

Thank you in advance for any assistance. UK based
I do like Frank Bettger’s book. I acquired this off an old business pal of mine. Charming and sounds realistic. Dale Carnegie is another I do like.

The other recommendations are appreciated as I hadn’t yet seen them. Thank you.
Thank you Ken. John Maxwell I hadn’t come across either so far.

Covey, I have his audio which I listened to twice a couple of weeks ago whilst doing a fairly long hands on job. I have his book, that I’m using to revise what I heard :-) .

How do I break into the Mortgage Buisness?

Not long ago I started my loan officer career. How do I get started in finding clients and enlisting real estate agents

Could that be a hint?

I just asked a question about why my casual lover/bf would ask me a question about my parents financial status..at the last minute before he left. I’m still not quite sure why he’d ask that right then before he left, but is he trying to figure out if we can have a future together? He knows I’m just now getting into a good paying career & starting to be responsible about my money. He said he still wants to keep in touch, and if I needed someone to talk to. I know he’s going to be living back at his parents to save up to buy property, he’s 32. But get this, awhile back he said to me, “you or we should buy us a log cabin in the woods” (where he lives now) But now he had to move away, could he still be thinking long term w/me? He told me wants to get his finances right, and so am I, could this be a start for something better to come? His parents don’t make as much as mine, but I don’t care! I love people 4 who they are. How do make him feel @ ease, that I don’t care how much they make?
I do ask alot of questions about this dude, but alot of things have happened so I just need to know where I should stand…and maybe just take my time with him, until he gets himself right.

Can I withdraw the funds from my 401k that I started with my previous employer without facing apenalty?

I began my 401k plan in 2001 and left my job in August 2005 upon graduation from college and the start of my new career. I have since began employment with another employer where I cannot enroll in a 401k plan until I have been there a year (August 2006).

When I originally began my 401k I was only having 4% of my meager payday allocated, therefore I don’t have a great deal invested (just under $4K). And upon termination of employment I left my contributions as they were.

I plan to begin a new 401k plan in August where I will allocate at least 10% to my new 401k.

I’ve just gotten married and bought a house. The $4K from my previous 401k would come in quite handy for some home improvement projects we were wanting to begin.

Would it be possible for my to withdraw this money without penalty? How would I go about doing so? How much would need to be taxed? And how would this affect my income taxes?

Thank you! :)
