How much money do you think that you need to live comfortably?

Please answer with areas of expenses/budgeting. For example, if entertainment is important to you..include 500 a month budgeted for entertainment, electric bill, mortgage payment, gas, water, cable, etc.
I’m interested in seeing what is obviously necessary and important to people and what they think constitutes a comfortable life.

Who is willing to give up their second amendment right to bear arms?

If everyone who says we should give up some civil liberties (fourth amendment, wiretapping bill) for freedom and safety, will you give up your right to bear arms when/if the government says:

“Terrorists are in our midst. They are in the shadows, hiding in the dark and waiting to strike. We don’t know who they are, but we will find them. It is in the best interest of the American people that we disarm them, rendering them almost harmless. This is why it is in the best interest of the American people that we strictly regualte the use and sales of civilian arms. We must limit the flow of arsenal that makes their way into terrorist hands and thus we have to place our hands on the vein that pumps that flow into the terrorist community. Today I ask the American people to report and record the arms held in your homes and, if need be, place them in the hands of our Department of Homeland Security in order to maintain peace of mind that they will not find their way into enemy hands.”

Is CLIPPING COUPONS really worth it? What about thegrocerygame.com??

I have found that I do save a lot of money clipping coupons — my last grocery bill was $125 but I only paid $55 b/c of the coupons / grocery game — but I also find I am buying things we wouldn’t have otherwise bought (body wash / carmelized walnuts…) and I spend hours organizing the grocery list and then searching for sale items at the store…

Folks with exerience doing the coupon thing — what do you think?

As a note, I used to only go grocery shopping once a month (always working , traveling, eating out…) before we had our baby — now that I stay home, I have more time and we do need to save more money than before…

Thanks!
