Nation of Whiners Phil Gramm

Phil Gramm, who now is the No. 2 at the Swiss bank UBS, told The Washington Times the US has benefited from globalization but most Americans are misguided by constant reports that the economy is at its worst in 30 years. “You’ve heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession,” Gramm, a former Texas senator, told the newspaper, adding that the presumptive Republican nominee will face an uphill battle fighting those perceptions. “We have sort of become a nation of whiners,” he said …

  1. Yeah it figures some piece of shit republican that stacked the deck and changed the rules in his ilks favor would say something like this. Typical of a filthy fat cat republican that has no idea what real life is like to say, “I got mine. What are you bitching about.” Well keep fucking us with your sell out corporate whore style of government and it will come knocking on your door.

There ARE schools. There aren’t enough jobs. Protecting our manufacturing base is not a republican or democratic value. It is protectionist. I don’t give a fuck about china’s future, I don’t give a fuck about walmart’s stock price, I care about U.S.citizens losing jobs to foreign countries because multinational companies don’t give a fuck about you and I. Who wants to defend the foreign billionares raping our childrens future? I am listening…

Which word of god are you referring to? I’m sure it’s one where god tries to trick us into doing bad things so he can burn us all for eternity ’cause he loves us…just like an abusive father. Your god may be an idiot, but mine never makes ‘mistakes’. My god is the one true god that is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient(all knowing) so where does that leave room for your ‘pathetic’ god?

WHOA! let’s slow down there X-man! I don’t think anyone begrudges a hard working ass kicking industrialist a pile of hard earned cash, I mean what the fuck is the point of living in america if there’s no opportunity? Please be careful though in who you defend.Phil gramm invested in soft core porn while he was claiming to be a christian. his wife worked for your gov. she changed the rules about trading energy, then went to enron and made $982,000.00 for never going into their office. they’re scum

I like the indignation, but remember that if the arguement continues to be rep’s and dem’s or us and them. we all lose. I hate this system and all it represents, but it’s not just republicans, there are evil people everywhere they are allowed to flourish. one of our founding fathers said “a patriot must be willing to defend his country…even from it’s own government”. They ALL BUREAUCRATS WHO LIVE OFF OF US. they’re only concern is staying in power.

  10. That maybe true. I really don’t know much about Phil Gramm other than he ran for President once and he didn’t make it that far. I’m not on his side. I don’t know him and he doesn’t know me. BUT, what he said in this video….I agree with. Doesn’t mean I agree with everything about him.

    I would bed to differ at least so far as this;

NAFTA, CAFTA etc as well as the “privitization of the military” and “deregulation” in every way, shape, and form, not to mention WALMARt and ILLEGAL ALIES are all 100% stinking republican owned.

I believe you’re right about economy being powered by trust. One thing that bothers me is that guys like gramm don’t really care about OUR economy. The world economy is what they always talk about, at a certain point I think we have to either tell other countries to play by the same rules we do or just forget about our rules regarding children workers, etc. It’s men like gramm who don’t want to fix these problems. just lobby for the countries who create them. What do ya do?

  13. I’m a musician and an independent investor. I agree our import/export is much too lenient. That is one of the reasons Saudi Arabia is getting filthy rich (of course they already were) off us and we are getting more in debt as a country. We need our own resources. The state of North Dakota should have thousands of wind mills by now but they don’t. They have a handful. Solar is still way overpriced. Whoever controls the price on solar needs a smack in the head. That technology has been around….

  14. ….since I was a kid (many years ago) and it is still nearly the same price it was back then in the early 70′s. The U.S. is still the largest producer of coal. 97% of the state of Kentucky is run by coal. They also have the cheapest utility bills in the U.S. per household. Why haven’t we utilized coal like Kentucky has? Especially when we’re running out of oil? If you don’t think Saudi Arabia (MUSLIM) wants us dead or financially ruined, you don’t know your history and you are uneducated.

I don’t see any truth to what this arrogant piece of shit says. He is of the rich elitist and therefore is not affected by this economic disaster that is hurting the rest of us. This mother fucker received $900,ooo in lobbyist fees from Swiss Owned Bank USB for brokering the deregulation of the mortgage industry. This has ruined the housing market with shoddy loans and crooked acts. He is now sitting on their Board of Directors! How is this not a conflict of interest as Senator?

    Yeah people.
If Americans took time to compare their so called “crisis” or “recession” with how most of the rest of the world lives, how they don’t even have an option for a home, and how crisis and hunger is real, you’ll find that indeed americans are a “bunch of whiners”.

    grow up!!!

  20. You grow up! Your boy – Phil Gramm – was whining about how the American People feel. I laughed when Phil Gramm was forced to step down from McCain’s campaign and then WHINED about the liberal media making an issue about his statements. What a big baby!

  22. Repub/Cheney/Bush/McCain/Gramm crony capitalism is just like Soviet communism…it works in theory and theory only.

We’re now seeing what happens when theory turns out not to match reality.

A common-sense, sensibly regulated market economy, that steadily and slowly grows, instead of booms, and then busts, has been and will be the best option for American society rather than a crony-capitalist casino disguised as a free market.

Mr. Gramm doesn’t like it, but that doesn’t make us whiners.

Wouldnt it be nice if the middle class could save up and retire, conserve as much as possible, bond together, and let the “Elite” be the “fundamentals of the economy”.

America is not to blame, it’s the damned previous Bush government and the 1% of the wealthiest who deregulate and steal from those of us who actually work for a living. We American People have been fed up with this for years. More than 50% of our country voted for OBAMA to get rid of this corruption. Which by the way is not just limited to Americans, but world wide.
Phil Gramm should be charged with TREASON along with all the rest of the Banking/Oil industry corporate money mongers.
