How old must someone be to rent an apartment in Minnesota?

I'm not exactly sure.
I'm asking this on behalf of a friend of mine living in Wright County, Minnesota.
I really want her to be free from her family, but emancipation is not an option.

    Unless a minor is emancipated they legally cannnot sign a contract for a lease or anything else until 18.
